The original recipe of the famous tropical drink, the first Piña Colada cocktail was created at the Caribe Hilton in Puerto Rico and is made with silver rum, coconut cream and fresh pineapple juice.
Place all ingredients in a high speed blender and puree until smooth before pouring in to four glasses. Alternatively, you can also use a cocktail shaker and serve over the rocks.
Notes
In Puerto Rico they love using silver or gold Don Q rum. This first version was actually shaken instead of blended because blenders didn’t yet exist.
