A tropical Piña Colada Protein Smoothie made with pineapple, coconut milk, banana, and protein powder. A creamy, refreshing breakfast or post-workout boost.

Working and being a mom to two busy boys means I am frequently on the go! That’s why I’m so passionate about starting each day with a nutrient-packed smoothie, as much as possible. Easy to make, versatile and portable, I will often blend one up before hitting the road, even if it’s just to run errands here in town!
For a healthy spin on the classic summer cocktail, I decided to create a Piña Colada Protein Smoothie with just 5 simple ingredients! Made with juicy pineapple, creamy coconut milk, and protein powder, each glass tastes more like dessert than a healthy breakfast.
Ingredients

- Pineapple: Sweet and tangy and full of tropical flavor.
- Banana: Adds to the creaminess of the smoothie and adds lots of nutrients.
- Protein powder: I usually use vanilla whey protein powder, but you could also use flavorless and plant-based!
- Coconut milk: Adds coconut flavor for that typical piña colada taste as well as making the smoothie extra creamy.
How to Make a Piña Colada Protein Smoothie

Step 1. Add all ingredients to your high speed blender.

Step 2. Add ice and then blend until smooth, adding more ice or coconut milk to get to your desired thickness.

Pour into a glass and you’re ready to sip at home or on the go to enjoy your Piña Colada Protein Smoothie.

Use a plant-based protein powder you’re all set as this smoothie is already vegetarian and vegan friendly! The tropical flavors stay just as delicious.
Yes! You can skip the protein powder or replace it with Greek yogurt, collagen, or a scoop of cottage cheese for added creaminess and extra protein.
