This chocolate peanut butter popcorn is the perfect fun and easy snack or dessert recipe for any night!

My kids are popcorn obsessed. Ok let’s be honest, our whole family is popcorn obsessed! Can you blame us? Easy to make, ready in minutes, crunchy, salty – what’s not to love? While we normally enjoy it popped in olive oil then sprinkled with a little salt, I love to surprise the boys with this sweet and salty Chocolate Peanut Butter Popcorn for family movie nights. It’s a tad bit messy, but ultra delicious without the guilt that many treats bring.
Ingredients
- Popcorn: I love to use rainbow kernels for a mixture of tender and crunchy popcorn, but use whatever you can find!
- Peanut butter: Natural creamy peanut butter is my go-to as it melts down to easily drizzle over the the popcorn.
- Chocolate: I always use dark chocolate, at least 70% cacao, because of the added antioxidants and benefits it provides. But if you aren’t a fan of dark chocolate, you could also use milk chocolate.
How to Make Chocolate Peanut Butter Popcorn

Start your chocolate peanut butter popcorn by popping some unpopped kernels.

You could use microwave popcorn, but I guess I’m a bit old fashioned and love to pop mine on the stove. You could also use an electric air popper.

Once your popcorn has finished popping, pour it into a large bowl and sprinkle with a bit of salt.

Then in a smaller bowl, put your peanut butter to soften in the microwave.

I like to chop up bakers chocolate before putting it into a small bowl to also melt in the microwave.

Once the peanut butter is melted, drizzle it over the top of the popcorn.

Followed by the melted chocolate.

Gently stir it all together to coat all of the popcorn evenly without crushing the popped kernels.

Serve immediately and enjoy your chocolate peanut butter popcorn!
Mix Things UP
- Make it saltier. You could break up some pretzels and toss them in the mix for a more salty and sweet mix.
- Make it more chocolatey. Toss in some semi-sweet chocolate chips at the end for additional bits of chocolatey goodness.

You just want to use something with a high smoke point, so I always use canola oil.
In my recipe, 2 cups have 235kcal. If you alter the recipe at all, then that number will change.
You can make your own microwaveable popcorn by putting kernels and some oil or butter in a brown paper bag and folding up one end.
