Concord Grape Green Smoothie - The Lemon Bowl

Earlier this month I pledged to #EatTheRainbow in celebration of Pink Ribbon Produce’s 10th Anniversary campaign in conjunction with Price Chopper and other national retailers but today I’m suggesting we #DrinkTheRainbow instead.

Apple cider season is in full swing here in Michigan which means we almost always have a jug or two sitting in the fridge. Ideal for adding natural sweetness and tartness to smoothies, I couldn’t wait to incorporate fresh cider to this creamy smoothie made with green grapes, banana and Greek yogurt.

Drinking a smoothie packed with fruit and veggies, along with staying active, is the best defense you have in the fight against breast cancer. In fact, Pink Ribbon Produce has raised over $500,000 for breast cancer awareness and prevention.

In the meantime, grab hit up a local cider mill, grab your blender and get busy whipping up this protein-packed Green Grape Apple Cider Smoothie. You’ll love the subtle kick from the fresh ginger that balances perfectly with the sweet grapes and tangy cider.

Your straw is waiting.

What a gorgeous smoothie! Such a delicious combination of flavors. I have never used grapes in a smoothie, but that is going to change in about 10 minutes when I make this :)

Ooh yummy, this looks so good and healthy. In the UK cider is fizzy and alcoholic, but I’m guessing that’s not the kind of cider you mean ;)

I’m with you, I have a giant vat of apple cider in my fridge right this very second…it’s a staple this time of year. I typically just drink it hot as is or throw it into soups and stews, but I love the idea of putting it in my smoothies!

Seriously!! We never drink it all! BTW It was so great to finally meet you!!

A most interesting combination of flavors – one I’m sure I’d like, but my husband has gotten to where he won’t drink any smoothie with veggies in it, even if he can’t taste them. He just doesn’t like his smoothies ‘contaminated’ with green color, even if all he can taste is chocolate…
