Grilling season is one of my favorite times of year because it makes healthy cooking so dang easy, and you don’t have to heat up your house! Boneless grilled pork chops is one of our go-to dinner recipes because they are such an affordable, lean source of protein. Whether you have a gas grill or charcoal grill, these pork chops will be delicious!

Ingredients

  • Pork chops: A leaner cut of pork, that is a great source of protein. I usually go for a boneless chop, but you could use bone-in pork chops as well.
  • Paprika: I love to use smoked paprika for an added depth of smoky flavor.
  • Brown sugar: Adds some rich, sweetness to balance out some of the smoky, savory flavors.
  • Garlic powder: Concentrated, aromatic, garlicky flavor.
  • Cumin: Earthy, warm flavor for the spice rub.
  • Cayenne: Adds a great smoky, kick of heat to the rub

How to Make Smoky Grilled pork Chops

Start your smoky grilled pork chops by making your spice rub by mixing the smoked paprika, brown sugar, garlic powder, cumin, cayenne, and some salt and pepper. Then rub the spices all over both sides of the pork chops.

Pre-heat your grill to high heat, then grill your pork chops for 3-4 minutes per side. Depending on the thickness, they might need a couple more minutes. Then let rest for at least 5 minutes.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why are my pork chops so tough?

If your pork comes out dry or tough, then it’s likely been overcooked. Pork chops, since they are leaner, can be overcooked very quickly. To make sure they are cooked, use a meat thermometer and then get them off the heat!

What pairs well with grilled pork chops?

You can never go wrong with the classic apple sauce, or some roasted potatoes.

What temperature do I grill my pork chops?

Pork should reach an internal temperature of at least 145 to be safely eaten.

Great flavor but it is more like a spice paste due to the liquid addition of the worst.

Thanks for the recipe. The quantity of dry rub was a little too much for the 9 pork chops I cooked. I don’t know if I did something wrong but the rub caked the chops too. I’ll try using less next time, the flavor was good!
