Method
1.Add cumin seeds to a small, dry frying pan; cook, stirring, over a low heat until fragrant. Blend, process or pound (using a pestle and mortar) cumin seeds and chilli powder until finely crushed.
2.Combine spice mixture and onion in a small bowl.
3.Arrange the tomato slices on a plate and sprinkle with salt; top with cucumber and sprinkle with salt. Drizzle with lemon juice and top with onion mixture.
The spices can be prepared several hours ahead. The recipe is best assembled close to serving. Not suitable to freeze. Not suitable to microwave.
