Method
1.Bring milk, cream, star anise and rind to the boil in medium saucepan. Remove from heat; stand 10 minutes.
2.Discard star anise and rind. Beat egg yolks and sugar in medium bowl with electric mixer until thick and creamy; gradually beat in warm milk mixture.
3.Return custard to pan; stir over low heat, without boiling, until mixture is thick enough to coat the back of a spoon. Stir in orange-flavoured liqueur. Serve warm or cold.
We used Grand Marnier liqueur in this recipe; you can use any orange flavoured liqueur you like.
