Method
1.Combine palm sugar, lime leaves and ¼ cup water in small saucepan; bring to the boil. Reduce heat; simmer, uncovered, until sugar is dissolved. Remove from heat; cool. Strain syrup into jug.
2.Meanwhile, cut pears in half lengthways; sprinkle cut sides with caster sugar. Cook pears, cut-side down, in heated greased medium frying pan until browned and tender.
3.Serve pears with syrup.
Serve the pears and syrup with thick yoghurt or whipped thickened (heavy) cream.
