2.Grease 20cm ring cake pan. Sift flour into medium bowl, rub in butter, stir in enough milk to mix to a soft, sticky dough.
3.To make filling, heat oil in pan, add onion, bacon and garlic, cook, stirring, until bacon is crisp. Stir in mushrooms, olives, paste and thyme; cool.
4.Turn dough onto floured surface, knead until smooth. Divide dough into 8 pieces, knead each piece until smooth, press each piece to 10cm round.
5.Fill with a teaspoon of filling, pinch edges together to seal, shape into balls. Place balls into prepared pan. Brush with oil, sprinkle with combined thyme and breadcrumbs.
6.Bake about 10 minutes, reduce heat to 180°C, bake about a further 20 minutes.
