4.Bake muffins for about 20 minutes. Stand muffins in pan for 5 minutes; turn, top-side up, onto wire rack.
5.Meanwhile, to make orange sauce: In a small saucepan, combine sugar and cornflour; gradually stir in juice and liqueur; bring to the boil, stirring, for about 1-2 minutes, or until sauce boils and thickens. Stir in butter and rind.
6.Serve sauce with warm muffins.
These muffins are delicious without the orange sauce. However, the rich buttery sauce transforms them into a dessert for grown-ups. Grand Marnier (or brandy) is the best liqueur to use. Remember to grate the rind of the oranges before you juice them. If the muffins need re-heating, 20 or 30 seconds in a microwave oven will do the trick.
