Keeping Dishes Healthy

One of the best parts about Middle-Eastern food is how easy it is to keep meals light without losing any of the bold flavors. Simple tweaks can make traditional recipes even more nourishing. For example:

  • Instead of deep frying kibbeh or falafel, try baking or air-frying them for the same satisfying crunch with less oil.
  • Mujadara (lentils) is already a nutrient powerhouse, but you can swap in brown rice or quinoa for extra fiber.
  • Dips like baba ghanoush and hummus can be lightened by cutting back on olive oil or adding extra roasted veggies for volume.

These little adjustments keep your meals lighter while staying true to the authentic flavors you love!
