The ultimate celebratory cocktail recipe, the French 75 cocktail is bright, refreshing, and effervescent. Made with just three simple ingredients including gin, champagne, and lemon juice.

When it comes to cocktails, I like them citrus-forward, effervescent, and well-balanced (read: not too sweet.) Prosecco is my drink of choice when I go out with girlfriends or have a date-night in with my husband, so it’s no surprise that it’s on my Friendsgiving menu this year!
What is a French 75?
Dating back to the World War I, it’s name was obtained from a French piece of artillery.
French 75 is a classic cocktail made with just three simple ingredients: gin, lemon juice and champagne. You can add simple syrup to sweeten but I don’t think the drink needs it.
Garnishes
The best garnish for a French 75 cocktail is a lemon peel and is easy to do. Just cut a lemon width wise in a circle and use a paring knife to cut as much as the pith.
Cost saving tips
Looking for a good cost alternative to providing champagne? Swap out the traditional champagne with Prosecco or cava.
