This thick and creamy apple peanut butter smoothie recipe is protein packed and made with sweet apples, creamy peanut butter, and a pinch of cinnamon.

Your smoothie queen is back with another delicious and easy breakfast drink. You should know by now that I start most of my mornings with a smoothie, and my kids love them, too! My Apple Peanut Butter Smoothie mixes creamy, salty peanut butter with sweet, tart apples for the perfect balance. The end result is a sweet, creamy, slightly tart and nutty smoothie that will keep you full and satisfied for hours.
Ingredients

- Apple: Slightly sweet, slightly tart, I like to use gala, honeycrisp, or Fuji apples. If you’re a fan of more tart flavors, you could use a granny smith.
- Banana: Naturally sweet and creamy in texture, bananas make it so you don’t have to add any sweeteners. I freeze my ripe bananas to use in smoothies so I can use less ice!
- Yogurt: I usually use plain Greek yogurt for added protein, but if you want to keep it vegan or dairy-free, simply swap out for full fat coconut milk or almond milk.
- Peanut butter: Low carb, full of healthy fats and oh-so-tasty, peanut butter is one of my favorite flavors.
- Flax seed meal: Basically flavorless, but a fantastic source of omega 3 fatty acids and fiber.
- Vanilla: A simple flavor enhancer.
- Cinnamon: Adds a bit of warmth along with antioxidants.
How to Make an Apple Peanut Butter Smoothie

Start your apple peanut butter smoothie by adding your banana and apple to your blender, followed by the Greek yogurt.

Next add the peanut butter, flax seed meal, vanilla, and cinnamon.

Add some ice cubes then blend until smooth, adding more ice or some water until you reach your desired consistency.

For a little added indulgence, feel free to drizzle with melted peanut butter right before serving, then enjoy your Apple Peanut Butter Smoothie!
Easy Substitutions
- Make it sweeter. If you like your smoothies on the sweeter side, don’t reach for sugar quite yet. Try sweetening with maple syrup or honey.
- Boost the protein. While peanut butter and Greek yogurt are great sources of protein, really turn it into a protein shake by adding some protein powder.
